There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in objective sections.

Detailed Syllabus

Quantitative Aptitude / DI: Number series, simplification, quadratic equations, data interpretation, arithmetic (percentages, ratio, profit & loss, time & work).
Reasoning: Puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, blood relations, coding-decoding, inequalities.
English: Reading comprehension, cloze test, error spotting, para jumbles, vocabulary.
General/Banking Awareness: Current affairs (last 6 months), banking & financial awareness, static GK, RBI and monetary policy.

IBPS PO Salary

A Bank PO starts at Basic Pay of around ₹48,480 (Pay Scale 48480–85920), with a gross in-hand salary of approximately ₹57,000–₹63,000 per month including DA, HRA, and other allowances. How to Prepare for IBPS PO 2026

IBPS PO vs SBI PO vs IBPS RRB PO

All three land you in an officer-cadre banking role with a similar pay structure, but they differ in scope. IBPS PO places you across 11 public sector banks (you find out which bank only after allotment). SBI PO is bank-specific — you know from day one you're joining India's largest public sector bank, with a slightly more rigorous selection process and higher brand value. IBPS RRB PO places you in Regional Rural Banks, with a comparatively easier prelims/mains cut-off and faster hiring cycles, making it a good parallel target while preparing for the other two.

Common Questions About IBPS PO

Can I skip Prelims if I have a high Mains score expectation? No — Prelims is a mandatory qualifying stage. Only candidates who clear the Prelims cutoff (category-wise) get their Mains score evaluated at all.

Is the interview marks-weightage significant? Yes. The interview typically carries around 100 marks (normalized), and combined Mains + Interview score decides final selection — a strong Mains score with a weak interview can still cost you a seat.

How many attempts can I make? There's no fixed cap on attempts for IBPS PO specifically — you can apply every year the notification is released, as long as you meet the age and education criteria for that cycle.
